Katelyn Gainer lives south of Akron. However she’s very active in the community through work and play in Highland Square, Downtown Akron, West Akron, and, as Katelyn says, “Pretty much everywhere!”
Katelyn plans and coordinates weddings as the Assistant Event Coordinator for Oak & Honey Events. She describes the company as a “sustainable event planning business that specializes in unique weddings and events with a local focus.”
She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Creative Cog, a local nonprofit organization focused on connecting our community through local speakers who inspire, motivate and create in Akron. Katelyn is passionate about giving back to the local community and is a member of Torchbearers.
Her favorite thing about Akron isn’t a certain coffee shop or quiet park. Instead it’s the belief that Akron gives you the chance to turn any idea into a reality. “Unlike most cities, you have the opportunities and resources to turn your ideas into a successful business, project, endeavor, etc.,” Katelyn says. “There are many individuals who want to see this city — and you — succeed and who will help you in any way possible to bring your ideas and vision to life.”
